3D phase tunable filter for LCD

  • Circular/linear polarized 3D phase tunable filter
After 3D images of LCD panel pass through 3D phase tunable filter, it changes polarization directions of each area to certain angles and realizes images on the left and right visual field using polarizing spectacles. By doing so, it embodies three dimensional images which can be used in the field of information and communication, education, broadcast, advertisement, medical science, design planning, military, and games.

Phase module for 3D projector

  • Realizes three dimensional images through the adherence of 3D phase tunable module onto the projector
After 3D images of projector pass through 3D phase tunable module, it changes polarization directions of each area to certain angles and realizes images on the left and right visual field using polarizing spectacles. By doing so, it embodies three dimensional images which can be used in almost all projectors over 120Hz.

INTRODUCTION OF 3D TECHNOLOGY

Main factors of three dimensional vision

Eyes can perceive objects with three dimensional visions because eye and brain are connected.
Eyes perceive objects’ information two-dimensionally. However, brains perceive it three-dimensionally: object’s position through convergence angle of eyes or focus adjustment (eye lens adjustment), object’s shape and direction through binocular disparity, and object’s movement through motion parallax of one eye.

Realization on three dimensional display

Uses binocular disparity to embody cubic effect on two-dimensional display hardware

Uses binocular display

  • Uses the principle: left and right eyes perceive left and right images respectively.
  • It’s a system that makes you feel virtual cubic effect in two-dimensional display hardware. It uses binocular display which happens because eyes are away from each other in width for about 65mm.

Non-stereoscopic display

  • Light leakage caused by wavelength dispersion feature of passive spectacles can be removed through reinforcement of the phase difference film.

The phase difference filter is an element of optics that changes the direction of polarization of light that is displayed in the LCD panel line by line. As shown below, the polarizing feature of polarizing film at the front part of the LCD panel is used to render the characteristic of polarization different by making the odd(even) line of light displayed in the LCD to be penetrated, and the even(odd) line of light to rotate its polarizing direction by 90 degrees. Hence, it is a device that separates the information of odd line and even line through the passive spectacles.

  • The difference between linear and circular polarization

In linear polarization, the vibration direction of transmitted light shows describable linear movements. Circular polarization is different in a way that the vibration of light that passes through filter is circular.
In circular polarization, the vertical visual field is secured so that images do not break by slight tilting. The problem is that colors of both channels can be mixed occasionally.
